Cincy Radio: Former Brokered Talker Pleads Guilty

Posted on 12:01 AM by Dilip walkar
A former WLW 700 AM radio talk show broadcast host will pay more than $2 million in restitution after authorities said he sold securities without a license.

Robert McManus pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of the sale of securities without a license and one count of the sale of unregistered securities, both felonies of the second degree.

Mcmanus faces a possible prison sentence of 16 years and a maximum fine of $30,000. As part of a plea agreement, Mcmanus agreed to pay restitution in the amount of $2,251,712 to 18 investor victims.

Mcmanus was the host of “Safe Money America,” a brokered talk show broadcast on 700WLW.

His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 17, 2015.
